I'm having the same issue. Some grinding noise and no ice. Took it to dealer and it's been making ice for them the whole time it's been there.

I've read that the 'non-stick' part of the ice trays becomes less effective, but I've not seen any specific solution other than replacement.

If I find out more, I'll post the information.

We've experienced the same noise and found the problem was that a piece of ice was jammed. The jam prevented the "ejector" from completing it's cycle. I picked the ice out and no more problem.

From what I've read the ice maker for a domestic refer will fit and work in the Norcold box. It's is not Norcold or RV specific. It's powered by 120 vac and not 12 vdc. I don't know a specific model number for replacement but I imagine that if you take the old one in the parts guys can match it up pretty easily.

We have had a build up of ice along the shelf behind the ice tray become large enough to stop the movement of the forks. We removed this ice with a hair dryer and wiped it clean. The ice maker has slowly returned to normal operation and we have our fingers crossed that this is the only problem involved.

Yes it is a standard ice maker, you may have to re-do the electrical connector though.
