Odometer problems

I recently bought a Winnebago Brave, 1995, Diesel Pusher, with Oshkosh chassis and Cummins 5.9 engine. Sometime since I purchased the Winnebago, the odometer (a separate unit from the speed-o-meter) reads only "err1". It does not read out the mileage, trip mileage, etc. I contacted Actia and got suggested instructions which "may work". They didn't work but gave me a glimpse of the info. which all seems to be there. The only other solution is that I purchase a new odometer from another company at a cost of $230. I have just bot tires, out $ on air cond., caulking, etc. so don't want to spend another $230 if can get around it. Any ideas?
