I think I finally solved the odor problem that was coming from under my galley sink and hopefully it will help others that have the same problem.
I purchased two wire sink drain catchers and use paper towels to wipe as much food particles from my dishes before being washed. What I don't get with the papertowel is rinsed and caught by the wire sink catchers.
I flushed my drains with hot soapy water and did this a few times. Now no food is able to get into the drains.
I have no odor now coming from under the sink and I still use my exhaust fans without any problem.
I sure hope this helps others with the same problem.

Great to here that you have solved your problem. Sounds like a simple enough solution. Now it is time to have some fun.

I have found those wire drain "baskets" in most oriental food stores/markets. They fit my drains perfectly, and are stainless (no rust).

That's where I found mine. The ones the oriental markets have are better than the ones I found at Wal-Mart. And they do fit perfect.
