I tried to run my generator for it's monthly exercise, but it won't start. It is a BGEFA Emerald Gold 5500watt gas. It started, but ran for only 30 seconds then wouldn't start again. I had thought holding on the stop button primed it, though now can't find any reference to that in the owners manual. Where the diagram points to DC fuse there is a fuse holder marked spare fuse 5 amp. There are two fuses in it. Do I pull that off to get to the fuse? I checked the mini fuse by the fuel pump 10 amp) and it is good. When I hold in the stop button (which I think primes it) the fuel pump doesn't make any noise. Will have to pull the line to carburetor and see if gas comes out. Does anyone know how to check that 5 amp fuse?

Does the engine turn over when you try to start it?

Regarding the priming issue, it takes about 30 seconds or more for mine to start priming when the stop button is pushed and held. You might not be waiting long enough.

Clay L, yes it turns over fine. I will try holding the stop button longer. Got the Onan carb cleaner today, will try when it warms up a bit.
