Hello, If someone would be so kind as to provide me with the NAPA Auto part number for the air filter (if there is such a thing) I would appreciate it greatly.
I have an 02 Onan quiet diesel model number HDKAJ, I spent the better part of last Saturday afternoon at the local NAPA trying to find the correct number and filter with no luck. The Onan filter number off the generator plate is 140-2897. I ended up paying real money for the OEM filter but would rather not do that in the future.
Thanks, Bob

Check NAPA 1334. I have that on my list as a possible replacement for mine. NAPA 1064 for oil and WIX 33063 for fuel.

I do not do Diesel filters, but I do WIX gas, oil flters.
And they are one half price of my local WIX dealer.
I order my WIX filers from www.filter1.com
Shiping is FREE if the order is $50. or more. TENN.VOL.

I don't have the info with me here at work, but do be aware that the OEM filter number on the generator is probably NOT what you want as a replacement. The Onan manual indicates that replacement filters will be larger than the original.

On edit: Sorry, I misread your post as looking for an oil filter, rather than an air filter. The air filter number should indeed be correct.

Thanks for the help, I ended up at the local Cummins/Onan dealer and purchased the OEM air filter as mentioned, using the part number on the generator plate. The new air filter has exactly the same part number as the plate number and matches exactly to the filter that came on the generator with 164 hours on it. The original air filter didn't look that dirty but looked like it had been wet so I replaced it. I hope to be able to buy the NAPA filter in the future.
