Onan Generator Starter Failure

mikwallace Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 29	Greetings All! While breaking camp on my last night of our Thanksgiving week long trip, I decided to start the Genny to exercise because I knew we'd use it on our return trip Home. Well all it would do WAS SCREAM!! And wouldn't turn over the engine. I surmised it was the solenoid - Wrong! Got the opportunity today to remove the starter from the genny and the picture is what I found - Gear stripped. Going to pick up a kit for the starter tomorrow - $42. It should fix the problem. The gears on the flywheel appear to be OK. Guess its just Fair Wear and Tear from 16 years of service??
