Onan Quiet Diesel 6000 Start

Having problems starting my diesel generator. Under normal conditions when you push the start button it Prime's for about 10 seconds then the generator turns over and starts. now when I push the starter button it does the prime but when it wants to start I just hear one click and that is it, motor does not turn over. Does this sound like the starter solenoid?

Sounds like a poor battery or ground connection. Check the connection at the battery or power source for 12 volts and check the ground from the generator to chassis ground.
These would be the first things I checked. Always check the free fixes first.
If you had an extra set of hands you could have someone check the voltage at the starter on generator, if it is possible, for 12 volts with a meter.

Good luck, Terry
