The wife and I found a beautiful 2010 Journey 40L. This model is on a Maxum chassis and does not have the DEF emission equipment (which is what I want).

We are considering trading up from an Allegro Bay on a Fred, and I would really like to hear from any of you that have any experience with this coach. I have had a Winnebago before and we were very happy with it.

I am still in research mode, but I have just about made up my mind that this is where I want to go if we can agree on a good price.

I would love to hear from any of you that have some info on this coach.

thanks, Ken

We have ours since June. It has needed some adjustments etc. It's at the dealer now. We just did it's "shake-down cruise" to Oregon and back. The floor plan is great; we love the fireplace but Jean misses a pantry. The chassis is fantastic. It rides great has plenty of power and braking with the exhaust brake makes mole hills out of mountains. It has more storage than we can use. It seems happier at 65 than 60. We got a low of 6.8 MPG a high of 9.2 and our 9000 mile average is 8.0. We just move from a Suncruiser 37B which we loved for 63,000 miles

Thanks for the replies.

Ed, are you happy with the basement air? Sales pitch says that it is more efficient than roof AC units...???? Also, where would you go to get service on the chassis? I know it is a Cummins drive train, but can anyone service other chassis componets?

Thanks for your help. I am just trying to make an informed decision.

Ken

This is our third Winnebago with basement air; we like it, but we never had anything else.

You have to shop for service. We were in Newport, OR when the 6000 mile came due. I printed the Freightliner schedule and took it to two places whom I had used before. One quoted $400 and the other $250 the bill on the second was $210 when it was done. We have a good truck shop near home and I will have them do the 15,000 mile service. A Freightliner Center is just too far.
