Parallax/Progressive converter replacement help

In my '03 Sightseer 30b, 30 amp service.I want to replace the Parallax 7345 converter with a Progressive Dynamics PD9245.
After looking at the Parallax wiring that’s in the motorhome now and the manual for the Progressive I’m not sure if I have the wiring down pat.

Coming out of the Parallax there is a blue wire (POS) and a white wire (NEG), that go up to the 12-volt panel. The white wire goes to the backside of this panel, and hooks up to a lug that the green wire from the batteries is attached to.
The blue wire goes to a lug marked “conv pos”.

Is all I have to do is run from the Progressive POS to the “conv. Pos” and from the Progressive NEG to the battery NEG wire on the panel and I’m done?
I will also ground the unit from the grounding lug to chassis ground.

The Progressive manual is the PDF file attached.

Wiring sure is fun

Greg

yes! it's that simple. Just unscrew the 3 wires off old converter and put them back on new converter. pos, neg, and ground. Don

I found the replacement of my converter a little more difficult than most people did.

I documented it in another thread...
Replacing Converter

I just went back and read it, and I wasn't very clear in that post. I'll add a little bit more here.

The parallax converter that I replaced had two circuits. The fuse panel was split into filtered circuits and unfiltered circuits. The old converter also had on output for each type of power. There is also the battery charging circuit as a separate connection on the panel.

All of these circuits will need to be wired into the new converters outputs. Mine provided two positive lugs and two negative lugs. I split the wires between the two outputs on the PD converter. The new converter makes no distinction between filtered, unfiltered and battery charging circuits. Just wire all the positive circuits to the positive on the new converter and all the negatives to the negative on the converter.

I've been very happy with the new Progressive Dynamics converter.

Hope this helps somewhat.
