I have a 1998 Vectra 454 7.4L 35'with 42K miles. My son is a master automotive tec and suggest that I add an aftermarket chip for better power, performance and about 25 more HP. He would do it and it would cost about $250. Anybody else out there done that to boost it a little and what do you think? Thanks for advice.

Most of the chips for gas engines will require the use of preminim gasoline. Better check on that before you spend the $$$.

It cost more but you would get a better bang with headers and a larger exhaust.

With a big load like the motorhome, you are looking for an increase in torque more than HP.
