Plastic Sheet under slide coming loose...What to do?

I bought a used 2008 Winnebago Voyage 32H a few months ago. Recently, I've noticed that a clear plastic sheet with a black edging is "bunching up," obviously detaching from somewhere under the slide floor (as I see staples on the black edging that have detached from somewhere), and the clear plastic sheet is now sticking out about an inch from the slide floor in a couple of places. What is this plastic sheet? Is it needed? Can I just cut it away? etc.

We had the same issue in our 09 tour. I finally decided it was installed as a carpet protector by the mfg, and then just cut away by the dealer. This may not be the case, but I pulled it loose, and have not noticed any adverse effect.

All the RV floors are cover with plastic sheeting from manufacturer. Dealer remove it. Some will leave for the new owner to remove. The sheeting is put on before the slide.

Thank you. Both of you were correct. I called Winnebago, and they confirmed that the plastic was nothing more than carpet covering that hadn't been completely removed by the dealer.
