I guess it getting to the point where the "Be Nice" rule needs to be pointed out before things start to get out of hand.

OK...I'll bite...

These are the kinds of threads that scare the crap out of me. I'm such a novice and I am in the process of buying my rig. So, I guess I got time to crawl under it and check for rust. Makes me wonder just how much homework I missed knowing I had to do. LOL What other dreadful thing is lurking and just waiting to suck the green out of my wallet...well, even faster than a well tuned MH to boot. LOL

As a moderator on an investment board (TSPcenter for any feds out there) I know the trials and tribulations of topic drift and topics that get out of hand. It can be confusing. Maybe for some of us new folks it goes right over the top and never registers. For me, as I am just getting ready to close the deal, it makes my shiny, shaved head sweat.

Never-the-less, I would rather be candidly scared out of my wits than blissfully ignorant. Now...where is that crawler I use to have to check it out before I sign on the dotted line?

You just have to watch out for that Dunner guy. He loves to go off topic as often as he can get away with.

I just took my creeper out of my MH. I figured that if I ever needed it, it would be on rough pavement and it wouldn't d do me any good anyhow.

I just went out one Saturday to buy a MH and found my signature. Made an offer and bought it... all in less than 4 hours. . Guess I was like stink on... and found the right one. Other than the motor blowing up on the second trip, it's a great little(32'er). Buddy bought the LX model for $20K more and I got a better one. His wife wants to trade. I got twice the storage space and a better kitchen layout. Thank goodnes for extended service contracts. Woulda cost me over than $10K without it. The WiFi I don't have let me buy it. I'm happy with it and a new motor+.

Because some of us have been working on or around motor vehicles and/or mechanical devices most of our lives and know what is prone to failure or is a defective item. Some of us can replace or even improve on an obvious design error/problem. Not directed at you, but some of us know what a screwdriver is and even know what end to hold.

This really is a friendly group, very informative and sometimes entertaining. This is the second thread I have read today on rust. I have been outside twice today looking around my windshield and asking my hubby where his creeper thing is. She may have alittle rust here and there but I love her!

I am really Supprised It took this long,,, I use my creeper every day To roll under The MOTORHOME I'm all under except my shoes stick out from under. Then I tell my wife I'm checking for rust (I just take my nap The creeper is nice and padded) after 30 minutes I am recharged My wife is happy, I say; no more rust.. ( You just have to check it Daily, with your creeper )))

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....don't tell anyone, but that is the reason I go under there too. That sweet ride doesn't have a speck of rust. Tried the rug but that was to uncomfortable.

Anybody want to see some rust? Well, here ya go. I purchased ours like this and proceeded to knock it all down and repaint. It was no big deal, about an hours work. The rest of the engine is somewhat better but, not as pretty as I'd like to see the CAT. The frame, sub-frame, and body mounts etc do have a bit of rust on them as this coach was a back east coach for the first part of its life. So far, nothing's fallen off yet. I've done some other touch-up here and there on pieces, compartments etc. ( the infamous compartment faces for Winne's). I'll just keep up with it. The rest of the coach is flawless.
