Potential Replacement for Magnadyne M9900

I have a standalone Sirius Radio that I want to add to my Journey. The current Magnadyne M9900 does not have provisions for AUX in and the FM modulator solution is a pain since you have to keep changing the frequency when a local station conflicts with your choice. I did a search on this forum and the 1.5 DIN replacements from Jensen etc. don't appear to be available anymore. I don't like most of the single DIN units (including my current outside radio) because they are difficult to operate. I mean one big dial and a bunch of randomly placed small buttons does not make a very ergonomic design.

After doing some web search I found this unit from Pyle.
PLCDMR97 - 1.5-Din AM/FM Receiver / CD/CDR/MP3/AM-FM Marine Grade Player

I was wondering if anyone else has used this radio. I know Pyle is not a high end brand but perhaps since it is designed for marine applications it might be more robust.

I use the "line out" from my XM car adapter kit for my XM and plug in a cassette adapter into the line out jack and push the cassette end of that adapter into the cassette player on the radio. Make sure the radio is in tape mode and thus no need to use the FM modulator. I have the car adapter kit mounted just to the right of the radio, so everything is close by and use the cigarette lighter outlet just above the radio to power the XM unit. The FM modulator method is a pain when traveling.

I suggest you go to an Auto Stereo dealer and ask for some help. I doubt you will have to spend more than $200 for a decent radio. I got mine for about $150 but that was 5 years ago.

I went ahead and ordered the PLCD MR95 for $159. I will post an update when I get it installed.

I think there are RCA phone jacks on the rear of the M9900 for aux input. This is where I connected my XM tuner.

I have the same radio in my Winnebago and it has two Aux input cables hanging from the back of the radio. I attachesd my stand alone XM Delphi unit to it and it works fine. Can you see if there may be cables tied up behing your radio?
