When we went to pick up the rig last year, they had a problem with the system leveling. They recalibrated and all was well. I had the RV parked in the driveway for awhile. Of course, trying everything out, I used the battery disconnects for the house and chassis batteries. When I put the rig in its winter spot, it would not level. I recalibrated it and all was well. I tried dropping and leveling again a few weeks later and all was well. During that time, I left the batteries connected.

I was just wondering how the Power Gear knows level. I assume that if I teach it what level is, it must be stored electrically. Does that mean everytime I disconnect the batteries, I will lose level?

Just thinking during this winter hiatus.

Somewhere on the frame of your coach is a box.. this box contains a pair of potentometers (Variable resistors) with pendlum weights.

It also has a 2nd pair with screwdriver adjust (or else the mounts on the first two are adjustable.. I'm not sure which)

That is the level

As the rig tips side to side or front to rear the pendlum weights pull the sensors off center.. this sends a voltage to a computer.. When the reference voltage matches the sample voltage.

It's level.
