I have a 2002 Adventure 35U ford chasis. the manual says you could get an inverter as an option. does anyone have one installed from the factory? if so where is it located and what does it power. I would like to power my front tv with an inverter.when it is wired from the factory does the inverter have to be turned on even when you are plugged into shore power or running the generator? I do not like to move cords around all of the time, but the only way I can figure to hook it up would be to use it on the inverter all of the time.

It is in the overhead entertainment center. It has a built in transfer switch so it doesn't have to be on when on shore power. Here is good information in a Service Tips in the WIT magazine

mikf,

I have the same inverter (300W) that John has provided a link to. The inverter powers the front TV, DVD/VCR as well as the bedroom TV. I think it's a pretty expensive inverter (something like $400 ) although there's very few inverters with that nice auto transfer function between shore power/generator and the inverter. From the factory, it's wired to turn off power to the front TV when the motors running.

I too have the inverter in the entertainment compartment. I leave mine on all the time on shoreline or not, haven't turned it off since December of '02! Mine is not wired through ignition, wife and kids love watching movies while driving....I listen

Mikf, I have a 2002 Brave, that I put one of these inverters in. The coach is already wired for the inverter, you justhave to hook up the output of the inverter to the socket behind the tv. it will then power the front tv as well as the rear one, if you have one there. I am getting ready to uninstall this one, as I have installed a 2500 watt inverter/charger. Let me know, if you would like it, we can make a deal on it.
