I have been reading so much on related threads on this and other groups that I decided to spend a few dollars and install a power monitor / protector. I have been staying at decent RV parks but they all have one thing in common - they are all up in years - Most of them are 30 amp which is not really a problem but I am concerned about power quality. I have to many electronic toys in here to get wiped out by a surge or low voltage.

I installed a SurgeGuard Model 34560. I installed it in the electrical bay where the shorepower cord comes in and connects to the coach electrical system. Once I started - after planning - it only took me about 45 minutes to complete the whole project.

I hope it will never be needed but I sure feel more comfortable now. It's kind of like the life raft I had on my boat - About $5000 in cost and I sincerely had absolutely no interest in seeing it opened or needed but it sure felt good knowing it was there when I was offshore.

Adrian: You made a good decison to protect the coach. I installed the Frank's voltage boost with surge protection. My sister's motorhome had the electronics fried when a surge came thru the park they were in. She paid more than $500 cost of protection in repairs to replace her electronics. I'm with you and like that "life raft" you talked about. Enjoy the new coach.
