Preventative Roof Maintenance

Have a 2017 Itasca 22R aka Minnie Winnie with zero roof problems. This is a flat fiberglass roof with poured caulk sealant. It is stored outdoors. Caulk looks good. Fiberglass roof is showing some early deterioration. Ideas for preventative maintenance and when? I was thinking caulk removal and repouring caulk and then taping caulk with eternabond tape. Later painting the roof when needed(has 10 year warranty). This has been a great rv so far and would like to help keep it that way!

That's a great article on fiberglass roof painting. Thanks dix39. Was surprised that Dicor sealant can be painted. Do you or other readers have any thoughts on whether preventative caulk removal and replacement is a good idea? Also, would it make sense to put the referenced tape on top of freshly cured Dicor to protect from uv damage? After installing a new Maxx Air fan that allowed me to see a cross section of this roof's structure, made me appreciate the importance of keeping water out of it!

Here is a link to the thread the article I sent was taken from; Fiberglass roof sealer???

Here is another link to a similar article; What type of sealant

What I do is inspect the roof about once a year and if I find a place that could be a problem I use Dicor to seal it. If it's too large for Dicor I use Eternabond tape. When I have to replace something like a roof vent I clean the surface and use vinyl "putty" tape under it. Many then use Dicor around the edges, sometimes I do and sometimes not, but it doesn't hurt anything if you do.

The campers we have currently are much older than yours. It doesn't seem to me that there could be much wrong with yours at this point because of that, but any leaks need to be stopped asap.

Perhaps others will chime in.
