I want to continue to use the Q Surround that came with the coach for the automotive radio, but also use a home theater reciever when parked with the TV and such, using the same speakers for both. Getting the wires for the speakers to the home theater reciever, but not sure how to go about "selecting" between radio and TV. (Individual speaker wires will be going to the home surround. Only a single pair is on the current selector switch.) Any thoughts?

Maybe a different selector switch that can handle more than one pair of wires? Might be a good idea to find a shop that does custom installation of stereo surround systems and pick their brains.

Just a thought, best of luck with your project

A little different from what you want to do, but when I upgraded the dash radio, I wanted it to feed the speakers directly from the radio so I could control the rear speakers so I wouldn't blast people in the back away trying to get the radio loud enough to hear over engine noise. What I did was use a 4 pole double throw (4PDT) relay with a 12v coil to switch over the speakers. I used the external amp feed from the radio to turn the relay on which switched the speakers directly to the radio. You could probably do something similar, but you would probably want a 120v coil on the relay and feed it from the home theater system.
