Quartzsite
Any one there that can give some info on what's going on with the shutdown in effect and camping on BLM land?
Are they writing tickets or just letting it go until the shutdown is over.
We are going down there tomorrow for the next 10 days as we have done in the past 13 years. Chamber of Commerce say they are not ticketing.

We live in Lake Havasu and, had to run down to Yuma to pick up some Jeep parts about a week ago. Camping in and around Quartzsite is alive and well, EVERYWHERE! There's folks camped 5-8 miles outside of "down town" Quartzsite, in all four directions. Many of the vendors are operating. I'd not worry about it if I were you.

Anyone in an LTVA without a permit can be ticketed. Will the BLM have enough law enforcement officers to go around and check the thousands of vehicles? In another thread it was said they were issuing tickets (no warnings). So... don't pay your money (because you can't) and take your chances or stay in the 14 day areas.

I am at the Imperial Dam LTVA north of Yuma. No tickets and all services, trash, water and dump are functioning.

We spent 11 days and all was fine. Garbage was taken care of and it seemed more busy than the past years. All in all it was a great trip!
