Our patio awning (20ft) is mounted over the rain channel which also is referred to as the roof channel that needs caulking or has to be checked every 6 months for caulking deterioration. I used to check this on our journey that had a dr side slide room after a few years it needed to have various areas re caulked now and then. The question is how do you get to the section thats under the awning to properly inspect it and re caulk if needed without removing the awning from where its mounted??? I spoke to a tech on the Winnebago tech line and he was not sure his answer was "well there has to be a way" so where do we go from here? WE have been having nasty weather at home so I have not been able to extend the awning to see if there is slack to push up the fabric or even go on the roof.

I figured that the screws holding the awning on also secure the roof in those locations, so I haven't been concerned about the caulking at the edge of the roof under the awning, as long as the rest of the edge caulking is OK.
