I have a '97 Adventurer, and we've been sitting in one spot for about 4 and a half months this summer. Started the propane furnace this morning and got a loud, grinding noise from the blower that diminished after a few minutes. How can I get into it to see if it needs some repairs?

Sounds like the proverbial mud dauber wasp nest has struck again! Likely your blower wheel churned most of it into bits; but you're right to undertake an inspection and clear out any remaining mud cakes (can throw the blower wheel off balance). You gotta do this from outside the coach; remove the large metal panel where the furnace exhaust is located, six Phillips head screws I think.. The furnace is mounted on a tray and you need to remove those mounting bolts (tray-to-coach) to slide the tray out. Then shut off your propane tank valve, pull the furnace tray out a little ways, and disconnect the LP feed line. Then you should be able to get the furnace to come out farther to where you can work on it.

Troth:
Thanks a million for the post. I had no idea where to look. Next day off I'll pull it out.
