Can some one suggest whether the gaskets on the slides should be treated. A Winnebago shop suggested a silicon aersol spray for the slides on our 2008 Winnebago voyage 32h. I looked in my Winnebago manuals and could not find anything.

I use a product from Protect All called Slide Out. You can do a search and find it at various locations, most RV Dealers carry it. It keeps them supple and from cracking and has a UV inhibitor.

LCD,
Many silicon aersol sprays are made from petroleum and are NOT good for your gaskets. The only product I have found that is not petroleum based is 303 Aerospace Protectant. It is a great product.

Probably because Winnebago recommends you do not treat or lube the slide seals!! If you push them, they sometimes will recommend corn starch.
If I used anything, it would be 303, but I question the need to use anything. My '03 coach has 50k miles, used fulltime for 4 1/2 years and at least monthly prior to that. It has never been garaged or covered. I tried corn starch on the slide seals once, and found it made the wiper seals too slick to flip when the slide was extended. I have never used anything else on the seals and all of them look & work as they did when we bought the coach.

Lived in my coach for 6+ years and moved those slides in and out a few thousand times. Never lubed the rubber slide gaskets yet and they look fine and work fine. I do wipe them down occassionaly with a damp cloth. When I first bought the coach the Winny guys told me not to lube the gaskets as this would most likely cause the gaskets to attract dirt which will then cause problems. Made sense to me, especially since I winter in the South west deserts and dusty wind storms are a frequent occurance.
