R&R Coleman Mach basement air unit

Does anyone have information/ history of removing and reinstalling a Coleman Mach Basement HVAC? My rig is a 2011 Journey Express. The model number HVAC is 6538B871. I have my unit out for fan replacement and cleaning. My first attempt at this maintenance item, and would like feedback on things to check/ perform before reinstalling. Any part of that procedure where I should pay close attention?

Just a thought, ELee-

I read somewhere that a guy mounted an electrical box on the side of his unit, installed his start/run capacitors in there and rewired them (probably just the compressor(s) caps, can't remember for sure.) Could take a few hours labor, but I thought it was a stroke of genius. He'll feel pretty durn good about all his effort if (more like "when" than "if) he needs to change them out.......cuz ya just know it would happen "on the road", right?

Not for everyone, of course ............ but I'd do it if I had basement air.

Safe travels............. ed s

Someone posted a complete article on removal and service sometime back. Try a search in the green box powered by google at the top of the page.

Ya, that "someone" was me back in 2008. I've since revised it in 2013 to add several methods that deal with the various diesel pusher chassis that iRV2 members passed on to me.

Here's the link to the pdf document with step-by-step removal and repair procedure: Link

Here's a link to the original thread where members added info from their 1st hand experience. Link

I think you will get a lot of satisfaction doing your own repair and you'll save a lot of $$$.

Good luck,
Bill
