Radio Recommendations

Our first trip out this year and the Magnadyne dash radio has totally bit the dust. Last year we lost the ability to set the time and other functions. Now it won't even turn on. I have tried to fix this by cycling power, and re-seating the ribbon cable that connect the front control plate to the rest of the radio.

Can anyone suggest a replacement radio that will work with the Winnebago surround sound speaker system.

Some have had good results with these may even fit in where old one was also remote operation.
Here is another MFG that may interest you.

There are so many good radios out there that to list them all would take all day.. I'd go with any good high end radio

Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, LCD TV, Digital Cameras, used to have about the world's best catalog.. Prices I'm not so sure about but it was about the best (meaning biggest) catalog.

The surround system we have in our 05 Adeventurer hooks into the speaker output for the front speaker, so there are no incompatibility issues. The only issue is finding one that is a 1.5 DIN if you don't want to do major dash customization.

I went way beyond just replacing my Magnadie radio by putting in a double DIN radio with in dash changer and loosing the changer in the cabinet above. This required more cutting and dash modifications that I had expected, but the results have been great. I also bypassed the surround system for the rear speakers with a speaker switch so I could control the volume in the back. We found that if we turned up the radio loud enough for the front while driving, we were blasting away passengers.
