Another newbie question. What does the radio rocker switch in the upper right hand corner of the dash on a 2000 Winnebago journey do? It is marked AUX on one side, and Main on the other. TIA

If it does not change to a different set of speakers then it probably is to switch power to the radio from the coach to the house batteries so you can listen to it without having the key on when parked.

agree with the above --- it selects the coach or chassis batteries for power. When running, I use the chassis batteries but, if I am working in the coach and want the radio on without the ignition key on, I select the chassis batteries.

I think that main is probably your chassis batteries and the aux is for the coach batteries.

RJ congrats on your purchase. I bought a 2000 just like yours in DEC. 09. It's a great MH. I have the 36L model which is yours? Oh and welcome to the forum. You'll find a lot of good information here.

Hey Scott

It is a 36L also. Other similarities. I'm originally from Erie, Pa. Now live in Fl. Bought it at Lazy Days in Nov. a year after you. Been a great coach so far. Lets keep in touch.

Rick

Some models require the key to be in the Acc position for the chassis batteries to work the radio. With the key off, put it in main and see if the radio comes on with the key off. It could be hot wired, but I don't think so. Then, switch it to Aux and see if the radio comes on.

As others stated - main=chassis batteries, aux=house batteries

I am having a problem with the main radio switch. Left AZ yesterday and TV and surround sound worked great. Got to NM and cannot get surround sound on TV unless I have the ignition on. When the ignition is on, the surround sound works fine. I have alway been able to put that switch in Aux in the past but not so now. I don't get anything in the aux position, ignition on or off; switch must be on main with ignition on to get surround sound. Any help?????

Could your battery disconnect switch have been bumped OFF?

First thing I checked but thanks. I have found a bad circuit breaker in the 12 volt panel in front of the rv just above the onan generator. Have a breaker on order but not sure how to get the old one out. Looks like they installed the breaker and then built the rest of the rv around it!!!!!
