Hi Everybody,
Thought I'd leave this tip in case it helps anybody else out. I have a 2010 Journey Express 34Y with the 40" TV in the buffet electric lift. The TV came configured to feed its audio to the Surround System but there is a problem. The TV that Winnie installed does not have a menu option to turn off the TV speakers. When feeding the Surround with the TV, we were getting a back echo effect because the TV speakers were on at the same time as the surround speakers. Since you have to turn the volume up pretty high on the TV when feeding the surround system (the rear output is variable), this was very objectionable. Unable to turn off the speakers, the dealer was ready to replace the TV to correct the situation. Fortunately, one of their Techs discovered a superb work-around. He discovered that plugging in a headset in easily accessible side headphone jack disabled the speakers but left the external outputs working normally. So, we cut the cord off a cheap set of headsets and use the plug to silence the TV speakers when we want to feed the surround system vice listening to the TV audio directly. Works great and is actually easier than disabling the audio via a menu.
