Re Locating the speaker selection switch

I would like to re locate the speaker selection switch from its factory site overhead in front of the passenger, near the "entertainment center" to somewhere on the dash. It seems like it should be a simple task to move the switch, and re wire from the relay(which I am told is in the pull up dash) to the newly relocated switch. has anyone done this, or next best, can someone point me to the relay, and its wires..? thanks...rgr...

This is another one of my projects "on the list". Winnebago finally got it right and now puts this switch on the dashboard (saw it on an '05 Meridian or Vectra??)

In my ;02 Horizon, there are 3 wites going to the overhead switch. If you wanted to simply re-locate the switch, those wires could be spliced and extended down to the dash where a factory-look SPDT switch that matches the rest of the dash switches could be installed, or any other SPDT or DPDT could be used.

If you want to retain the location of the existing switch, and add another dash-mounted switch, the wiring will be a little more involved, but not difficult. I do not have info yet, on the location of the relay you are mentioning though.

I moved mine a couple of years ago on my 2001. Adventurer. I couldn't find the relay either.
The easiest was to run 3 conductor wire down the corner windshield post over to the Dash. I mounted mine right on the fold up dash. I can't remember but I think I used telephone wire.

Haven't dome mine, yet.

The relay in my Adventurer is right under the radio when I lift the dash. Looking that the wiring diagrams, the crtical wire runs from the relay up to the switch. Moving the switch to the dash should be as easy as cutting the wire under the dash before it goes up to the switch. That wire, and +12 volts should be all that's needed, if I remember right.

Thats what I was hoping for.. Didnt want to fish new wires in, I hope to just relocate the switch to the dash, and use a cover on the old location.. Wonder who at the factory thought that the switch should go up overhead anyway?.thanks to all, ..rgr...

Moved my about 2 weeks ago. Had to have my wife keep turning the speaker switch off and on until I finally found the relay. It was in the middle of the wire bundles under the dash on the right side. Sense the power feed for the switch on my Journey is not available under the dash, I elected to splice the wires and run them down the right A pillar. Also the radio/tv switch on my Journey also goes to the surround sound another reason I choose not to change the power feed.

Grant, My 33V also has "surround sound", but only 2 wires on the selector switch one of which has 13v on it, the other to ground.... Ive located the relay, but still havnt ID the 2 wires down under the panel(dash).. I'll get a second pair of hands over here tomorrow.. rgr..

Well, I finally have gotten the switch moved. It is now where it should be, on the dash with easy access from both front seats..If someone will tell me how to post pictures, I'll put them up, with a short "how to" rgr..
