After I changed out the ole hunker tv in the cabinet above the w/d and mounted a 22" flat screen on the door, we now had a huge "hole" for some storage. Wife was complaining cuz it was dark in the hole and I said, no problem, I'll just install a 12V lite. HA! There is NO 12 Volt wiring in the area to tap into, the closest is the closet lite but very difficult to access for the ground. So, had to run a pair of wires back behind the cabinet down to the floor, fished a line thru the carpeted cover at floor level and ran under the dresser to the area under the drawers next to the shower. By removing the bottom drawer, there are plenty of 12V wires. There was even a vacant pigtail, but somehow it is tied to the valance light switch(must be for some accessory I don't have). I didn't want to use that switch to control the cabinet lite as if we had the valance lites on, the cabinet lite would have to be on also. I used the ground from that pigtail and found another hot line to tap into. Wife is happy now, at least until the next issue comes up.

When I replaced the rear TV in my 04 39K I lined it up just like the old TV. My wife has so much "stuff" I didn't want to give her more space. So if she sees this I'll end up doing it like you did. Do you by chance have a photo of the finished product/
Thanks
Bob

Another possibility for lighting in that situation are the battery operated and motion activated LED lights like the Mr. Beams MB980. There are many sources, but I got mine on Amazon.

Bob, I took some photos and downloaded on to my desktop. When I click on the add image icon in reply, it asks me for the URL for the photo image. I went back to the Corel Photo site and I can't find any URL anywhere. I am not very savy when the puter doesn't do what I want, so do you or anyone have any suggestions how I post the pics?

Also, Bill, good idea on the suggestion of lights, I always take the most complicated route, and my wife will confirm that.

Barry,
I am not at my computer, but when I attached my TV install pictures the other day I thought there was a browse section just above where you saw the URL request. Clicking on browse allowed you to identify the source file which you would double click to attach. The URL method was for linking to a picture I believe.

I am doing this from memory, so beware.

I would like to see your approach since I just finished the same project last week. My shots are in a thread from last week.
