Removal of TV cabinet

Probably a silly question but how is the wood surrounding the front TV on a 2000 Horizon attached? I can't find any attachments. Thanks.

Check for two screws on each side inside the cabinets on either side, a few inches up from the bottom of the cabinet. You'll also need to remove the plastic surround (pop off the plastic caps and unscrew the screws inside) since it's attached to the wooden surround. (It's a good idea to put a towel over the defroster vents to catch any screws, caps, etc. that might try to fall in.)

On ours I have to remove the faceplate on the right cabinet to get at the screws. The faceplate is around the video switch and holds the TV/radio switch and antenna power. I think the faceplate is only held on with 3 screws.

The wood frame actually slides down after you remove the screws on either side inside the cabinets to the left and right, and the screws in the plastic cover under TV. And the drop cloth over the vents is avery good idea! When you get the wood frame off you will find a pretty rugged metal frame assembly up there. I took my TV out just to tighten things up, tie up wires that were vibrating on plastic cover etc. I was impressed with how it was done. I'm going to keep the 2004 sony as long as the picture is so good. Would love to know how you make out with this project.
