We are replacing our bedroom TV but, need to know how to loosen the bracket which secures the present TV into the space above the desk.

I can see a 1/4" bolt with a nut securing the bracket but cannot get a wrench or socket of any type past the TV in order to remove the bolt.

It seems that I have only two options:

1. Use a hacksaw blade to saw off the bolt below the bracket and securing nut and above the flat surface to which the TV has been secured. I should then be able to push the TV towards that side and have access to saw off the second bolt holding the bracket. That is a lot of hacksaw work by hand in a very tight area.

2. If I remove the header paneling above the desk, I may be able to get at the head of the bolt. This would be a least resort because I don't know what other problems I might cause by removing the header paneling.

Any suggestions?

Along this same rout: are there any suggestions how to replace the front TV? This TV is located in a plastic enclosure over the dashboard near the ceiling.

We would like to switch this TV to a flat-screen digital model.

Welcome to the list!

I didn't see any indication what coach you have, but that is exactly how to remove the TV in my Ultimate. My TV is in a hanging cabinet above a waist-high dresser. The panel on mine has a light mounted in it, and it held in place by several small screws around the edges. Once that panel is removed, you have easy access to the nuts that hold the metal strap down -- LOTS easier than trying to hack-saw bolts off!!!

If you do a search on the forum, you will find several discussions on replacing TVs with flat screens. Some folks have also posted pictures, or links to pictures, of their conversions.

Welcome to IRV2 and the Winnebago owners forum . I see from your profile that you have a 2003 Adventurer 33'. It is always helpful to include your coach info in your post (most of us include that info in our signature line). There are many Adventurer owners here so I am sure you will get some advice soon.

By your description of your rear TV location, I believe you have a TV in the corner above the desk as in my coach. The panelling with the light under the TV needs to be loosened and removed. It is held in by nails from below. this gives you access to the mountingfastners. Ours needed to be removed when under warenty to repair some bad wiring in the 120 volt outlet.

In the front I have been told that there are fastners in the two cabinets on each side of the tv which release the plastic beezel. I can't verify the front ones.
