Removing LP tank on Journey

Well the list keeps getting longer. I was under the coach to address a few new rust issues and started scraping loose paint from the LP tank. Wow. The paint is flaking off in huge sheets and the tank is heavily rusted in many places.

In order to do a proper job of dealing with the rust, the tank really should come out. Other than waiting until it is nearly empty to minimize weight, has anyone dropped one of these tanks? If so, any suggestions or tips are appreciated.

I have not dropped one. Fortunately I live in the "dry" desert. I think there is a recall on the mounting brackets, for rust, that hold it onto the frame. Check with Winnebago.

That recall was done on this coach years ago. This rust is everywhere, not just where the brackets contact the tank.
