I know this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find the thread.

I want to see if I can do two repair items involving accessing the inside of the front door.

The first is to be able to remove the window so I can take the window unit to a glass shop to have the seal repaired (or the window replaced if the seal can't be repaired). Is this difficult? If I remove those "dozens" of screws holding the inside panel to the door, is that all that is necessary to access the window? ...or do I have to mess with disassembling the door handle and lock?

Once I have the panel off, can the window be removed easily?

The second item I was thinking of replacing since I'll have the door dissembled is the "keeper arm" since it makes a "thunk" sound when the door approaches the 90 degree position.

An RV repairman told me that Winnebago DPs commonly have this "thunk" sound if the door has been slammed against the keeper arm in the wind. Sure enough, I heard a lot of doors making the same sound at a recent Winnebago rally I was at.

Has anybody replaced the keeper arm on their door? ...is it worth even trying to do it?

Thanks.

Sir, I have an 07 Meridian and the wind almost blew it out oneday. Good old duct tape saved the day. I was able to just remove the rubber seal on the outside and the glass came out. Save the seal of you can. I then used 3-M buel (SP?) seal on the inside door. Then replaced the glass and used a good caulking for glass to metal and reinstalled the seal. It has been in now for over a year with good results. If you need more info, just e-mail me.

Thanks, Chris. That's the thread I was probably thinking of and also that link to the "other" forum was what I remember reading about at some point. I'm assuming that a Journey/Meridian door will probably use the same parts so I'll check into securing those parts mentioned ....much appreciated!

Oh, thanks, Roy! Yours almost blew out as you were going down the road?! Oh man.

So the window is supposed to be accessible from the outside rather than the inside? ...interesting. I figured that I'd have to access it from the inside and it would come out as a unit. Yes, I'll be in touch with you to get more details. Thanks so much for the offer.
