I have an 02 Brave and the bathroom skylight exterior shell seems to be getting small cracks. I have kept up with them to but I am thinking of replacing the skylight. I noticed that the skylight comes in 2 parts, inner and outer, so I was wondering;

Has anyone has replaced just the outer shell? Are there screws under the caulking around the lip that would allow just removing the outer shell?

Can you order just the outer shell?

Thanks,

Yes to all questions. I got mine from LICHTSINN MOTORS, INC. in Forest City.

Jim, I believe the skylights used by Winne are fastened with screws. Once you remove the caulk, you will see them.

Not sure you can order just the outer shell. A call to either David or Lonnie in parts at Lichtsinn Motors in Forest City will tell you that. They can also get the parts for you.

I replaced my outer shell only. I recommend you do it as soon as possible. Even though I patched mine some water got into the outer wall and caused delamination. It is just screws under the self leveling caulk. When I replaced mine, I put butyl tape down under the flange, screwed it down and then sealed with self leveling Dicor. Bought mine at Winnebago when in Forest City, $130.
