At the request of the DW I plan to replace tub and surround on a 97 Vectra. This will be a new adventure for me. Any suggestions, warnings, hints or humor for me before I begin the project? Thanks in advance.

Maybe we can share stories. My wife and I have a 2002 Holiday Rambler 40PBT that we are installing a regualar house style shower in. Plumbing will be a bit sticky but the 48 inch wide insert will work as we are using swanstone,

Our shower was small and in the corner. A small cabinet was next to it so after measuring we knew we could install a 33x48 shower pan and swanstone walls. Luckily I have all the tools for plumbing the pex piping as I built my house with that stuff. Being that the drain pipe from the shower is above the floor I had to first get the drain plumbing to line up in the center, no big deal but then I had to build a platform to hold the shower pan up 4 inches off of the floor to clear the drain piping. Completely replumb the shower valve in the corner because of the sliding pocket door behind the shower and kitchen. After all is said and done we have an awesome shower that after a long day of camping allows you a nice roomy shower with glass sliding doors. We just love it.

How much more weight does this addition add to the rig? Are you at or already above gross weight rating? I would love to do that to my current 5er but what's it weigh?
