Well, not one thing its another.....
Rest Easy sofa has decided not to function on the fwd side. Push button, nothing. At least it's in the up position.

I've looked in the parts catalog but cannot find the motor part number or the diagram where it can be found in the sofa.

Where do I start? Does anyone know if this is a 12V system or 120 V system. I'm assuming it is 12 volts.

Any help appreciated.

thanks
jk

I think I may have located my problem but do not know how to easily access the connector. It appears to be a loose or bad electrical connector. The connector is the one between the harness and the motor and working on it while leaning over the back of the couch ain't easy for on old geezer like me. So how do I remove the back of the couch or the seat. This is a dual operating rest easy so I only need to remove one of the items.

thanks
jk

When I had to work on mine, I had to unbolt it from the floor, It had about 6 lag bolts on each end. Not much trouble to do but did take some time. One of my drive cables was out of sink. Never did figure out why.

The drive "cables" came loose on mine ...both sides at different times ...like an old speedometer cable. I opened the foot piece and wriggled head/arms first under it to reach the cable where it came out of the drive. I understand they are "glued" in, but used good packing tape around the assembly and it has stayed in place for a few years now.

If you tried to move it and only one side moved, then you insert the drive cable without returning the other side to where it was before it moved alone, then the two sides will be out of sync and the sofa may bind when it tries to move.
