Roof Protection

I'm getting ready to shine-up the rig for the summer. The coach has been washed & waxed on a regular basis. The roof has been washed but never been waxed/protected.

Question: Is there a product that I should be using to extend the life of my roof?

Some people do wax the roof, I used too, but not anymore... I wax the sides where it meets the side wall with New Finish, that way I can check the roof seam at least twice a year.... for the most part I just strap on the knee pads and wash it with dish detergent or spic and span and a bucket of water using a mico-fiber cloth, keeps the mess from running down the sides. While I'm up there I also clean the inside of the roof vents and such. Four years and looks good just as white as the driven spring snow!

Others use protect-all. I think it's over-rated expensive and doesn't last!

I use the new finish also. I hate that job. No one notices it anyway, just ME.

I use Polyglow and apply it with a chammie mop once a year. First application is tough due to the prep but once done, no more chalk or streaks comming down the side walls. Maintenance after that is hose it down occasionally then mop/rinse it down once a year and mop on a touch up coating.

PolyGlow is a Acrylic Coating that is applied with a Chamois Applicator. I apply it with a long mop handle attached to the applicator head. It is for sealing and shining fiberglass RVs and Boats. I am not sure that it would be appropriate for your Horizon if it has full body paint however it may be good for your roof if that is unpainted and still just the plain fiberglass.

After I treated my previous coach with PolyGlow people thought it was still wet even weeks after I was done. It no longer looked 11 years old.
