As per Winnebago's recommended maintenance schedule, I decided to inspect and if necessary, reseal the rool to sidewall joint. Inspections revealed some re-sealing needed, so I ordered the Winnebago specified sealant for our painted Journey (part #094401-04-000). Thought it would be some special Winnebago sealant, but when I went to pick up my special order, the parts guy said I had to pay for hazardous shipping ($14) plus the price of the sealant ($15). The tube had Winnebago's sticker with the correct part number, plus all the other numbers Winnegbago uses. But, guess what the sealant is.... A standard tube of Gutter & siding sealant with the brand name of Stone Mason. Oh well, $29 for a $3 tube of standard gutter/siding sealant.

Well... Hmmmm! Thanks for sharing that so we can save a few shekels (at your expense!)
What is the caulk type - silicon, urethane, or?

John,
All the tube says is 'a high performance quick drying flexible thermoplastic sealant and caulk' Also says clean tools with solvent, so its not water based.

Found the web site for the sealant. WWW.usehickson.com. They list the below stores that carry their product. Would be courious if anyone finds the sealant and what the listed stores charge.
The Home Depot
The Building Box
Reno Depot
Menards
Canadian Tire
Wal-Mart

Is this sealant colored or clear???
If colored to match the coach it may be made for Winnebago and not available anywhere else.
All I see from doing a web search is clear.

Ordered a fog light from Winnebage. After all was said and done 50.00.
Week later, same lamp, Wal-Mart, 5.00.
I feel your pain.....
Thanks for the Heads up. I too was thinking that we needed some 'special super' sealant. You saved me some bucks. Ought to send half the difference to IRV2!

Tom N,
The sealant is clear, which is what is specified for painted coaches. If not painted, it is a different part number (probably white), but I don't see why you can't use the clear on non-painted coaches.
