Roof vents '12 Ellipse 42QD

My 2012 Ellipse 42QD has three roof vents. Two are over the bathrooms and must be for them. One is pretty much in the middle of the roof and the vent is cut almost flush to the roof. The bathroom vents stick up a couple inches. So, what is the vent in the middle of the roof? Thanks, I have been asking a lot of questions here lately and appreciate all the answers.

That makes sense. I guess it is flush to the roof because the galley odors are not like a bathroom. I put the Cyclone vents on the bathrooms but they don't fit on the galley vent.

You may have two black tanks and one gray tank.

Best way to find out where the vents go, is to download the plumbing diagrams for your coach from the Winnebago site. They are clearly identified there. I have three on my Journey and two are for the grey tanks and the third for the black.

I think winnebago put that vent in order to run solar wiring. It feeds directly behind the one place panel, I used it for that purpose.

Reason I said that is; our previous 5er had 3 attic vents, at least that is what Grand Junction/Dutchmen calls them... supposed to reduce heat build-up in the roof/ceiling. That is the only time I knew of them on an RV.

I am assuming you are referring to the plumbing vent pipes and not the exhaust fan vents. The three vent pipes (2 for grey/1 for black) should all be extended the same height above the roof or you will eventually experience sewage odors inside the coach. Our 42QD came with vent caps on each pipe which I later changed out to the cyclone style on two out of three. Highly recommend this fix to anyone who is having odor problems in the bedroom/rear bath areas.
