I have a problem with my wheeliner rubbing on the lip on the steel wheel creating a noise where it rubs. has anyone had this problem and what is the fix? I rotated the liner to the other wheel and it made no difference. This is on the front wheel. Thanks for any response.

Thank you. I have my 04 adventurer from new and never had the problem before.

04 Adventurer: The wheel liners do rub for some reason, although not consistently. I have a 2010 Meridian V that has on occasion rubbed since delivery in January. Winnie uses a 1/2 inch sticky backed material similiar to insulating stuff for windows. It does not last very long. I do not know the long term solution to the rub. I had an 04 Suncruiser prior and would give the liner a gentle size 12 that would quiet the noise for a short while.

are your lugnuts torqued to specs?
the torque on mine is 475 ft lbs. my wheel covers sit on top of 4 lugnuts and are attached with 4 jamb nuts. if the lugnuts are not torqued, the wheel liner can move. if the lugnuts are too loose for too long, the holes in the wheel can become elongated causing this problem no matter how tight you get the lugnuts.

04 Adventurer: Make sure we are talking about the 'simulators' on your wheels. The fake wheel liners not aluminum wheels. These simulators are attached with only two 'fake lugs', not torgued, but wrenched tight. The lugs only hold the covers in place and do not necessarily hold the fake cover tight against the steel wheel; thus the simulators are free to flex very slightly causing a sound like a rub. A soft 'wedge' of sorts stuck between the liner and steel wheel at the rim will stop the 'rub' until that 'wedge' is worn.
