Sanyo EAX-510 CD Changer??

Hi Guys:

Does anybody have a Sanyo EAX-510 CD changer, it has an 8 pin din plug? Before I blow $489 plus shipping on a new one from my stealership, I want to make very SURE that my CD changer is dead, and that there is not something else wrong. Once I order it, there is no return, nice guys huh.

The only way I can think of doing that is to plug another one in and see first if it works ?? I would pay shipping??

There has to be an alternate unit that would fit in the hole (double DIN??)that's cheaper and available from someone like Best Buy or Crutchfield(Crutchfield: LCD TV, Car Stereo, Home Theater, Speakers, Digital Cameras). I know that a 10 disc unit is nice, but wouldn't a 6 disk be about as good?? As a note, the Sanyo stereo system in my 5er died as well as one I had in an earlier pick up truck - about the same death rate as Sony products which I never have owned long
