Sat receiver bin

Hope this is a stupid question. Breaking in my 2016 Sunova, coax from rear to front portable output sometimes sees a satellite, mostly not. Direct to dish receiver confirms tailgater good. Not sure of my options, goes with very good consignment price I guess. Okay, don't laugh, how can a remote signal get to the dish receiver with that very solid cabinet door over the drivers head. Previous class A's had the smoke plastic door covering.Thanks.

It's ultrasonic or UHF instead of IR.

That's what I think. I could be wrong.

I don't see one on the drawings but you may have one anyway, that's is an RF/IR repeater setup. Are there any little light looking things near the TV's, usually they light up blue when you hit the remote? There would also be some funny looking light bulbs(IR amps) in the cabinets, usually around 2 or 3 of them. They are there for you to place in the line of site of the
RF/IR receiver spot on the various boxes that need controlling. If these are there then you need to set them up for use . If they are not there you may be able to purchase some that work over HDMI.

Yes, there is a round sensor in the fireplace cabinet below the main TV. It did respond to the Insignia TV volume remote, but not to the Z211 dish receiver remote. Had to keep the wooden cabinet door propped open for line-of-sight operation. Ok, thanks. Take another look if it needs to marry up somehow to the dish receiver setup. I take nothing for grant it as a second owner. The back to front portable coax issue is for another day.

TJoyce, First question, remove the wall plates with the coax connectors, the one in the overhead and the one in the back compartment and check the coax connectors in the back of the wall plate. Remove and a reseat them.
Second question, there is a IR repeater in you coach. The transmitter (emitter) bud must be placed on the front of the sat receiver over the IR receiver. Drawing shows one on the DVD player and states that there are two of them. So look around in the sat receiver area for one hanging loose.

Go to the Winnebago site and down load ALL of your MH's schematics and drawings. These are some of the best drawings you will find and most definitely need to perform repairs on your MH. On the site they also have info on the 3d rendering program so you can tear your MH apart via the computer to see exactly what you are dealing with before actually tearing it apart.
Good stuff

TJoyce, a note on the Winnebago drawings. You need to look at the Winnebago serial number of your coach to see whether you have a early U1 or a late U2 2016 model. Sometimes there is a big difference in the drawings.

Sat Coax Issue

Did, my rig is U2. Checked that coax's behind both front and aft plates, they were secure. Did not reseat them, hey I"ll try it. Did pop the mesh screens to both sides of the SMALL overhead bins. Saw all the wire/gadget stuff and will look again this weekend after studying the diagrams more and searching for the 3D diagrams. Service manager at PPL where I bought "as is" said to turn off the Jack booster, may degrade aft to front portable tailgater hook-up issue, I doubt it, next project. Also, it is possible I am using an older model dish remote(20.0) vs. a 40 or 54(talking model), RF vs. IR issue, IDK. Reading Winnebago threads, some folks are leaving the wood bin doors up and pointing with line-of-sight to 211z receivers. Not going to happen here, will figure out, thanks.
