FYI, even though many folks do what you are inquiring about, and it does work, I would offer that you are about to do something that will negatively affect the airflow for your refrigerator and is not recommended by either Norcold or Dometic.
The back area of the refrig needs all the air flow that it can get and as the ambient temperature goes up the need for air gets higher. This is the only entrance for "cooling" air to enter and pass over the coils and the evaporator at the top near the roof. Reducing the airflow will reduce the effectiveness of your refrigerator.
You may want to give the manufacturer of your refrig a call and see if you are putting your warranty in jeporday.
