securing new frig

I am about to install a residential frig. I kept the plates that were attached to my old norcold. Has anyone used them to anchor the new frig? If not how do I keep the new in place. I have an 06 Itasca 36g and I'm looking at a whirlpool wrt311fzdm or a Frigidaire fgt1845qf.

I kept the old plates too, but the new fridge was too tight against the back to be able to use them. I put screws into the deck at both the front and the back through the bottom framework. I created trim pieces on one side and across the top, and put Velcro up both sides and across the top. The trim fits tight, and with the Velcro added in, the fridge is even more solid than I expected it to be. There are pics and description of my install at ReferReplace

When I did mine I decided not to drill any holes in the unit, and similar to the "velcro method", I lined the entire inside of the trim around the fridge with double-sided tape. That thing hasn't budged in the 1.5 years since I installed it. My installation is here

Good luck!

Same for our Whirlpool. We drilled pilot holes in the front frame and rear frame and then wedged the unit in the hole. Screwed it down, then snugged a trim piece across the top with velcro to the top, front edge of the fridge. It wouldn't move without the velcro, so the velcro is just for safety.

Key for us: Ours was on a slide so I first had to install a 3/4" plywood shelf for the fridge to ride on. Installing the shelf was a little tricky; the screws at the bottom are into that shelf. Painted the shelf black so it looks like the bottom of the fridge.

In addition to floor bolts the Norcold I removed had two straps at the top accessible from the refrigerator roof vent. I bolted the refrigerator base to the floor but also attached the straps on the top. I was concerned about drilling holes in the top of the new refrigerator but a tech suggested I use a small drill bit and barely go through the top where I needed the holes for the straps. After the small hole was drilled I took a tooth pick and probed the opening to confirm there was no wiring or tubes or anything to get damaged by a short screw. That seems to work well.
