We used our Sharp Convection/Microwave oven the first time in Convection mode. When broiling pork chops, it took about 30 minutes to preheat to 450 degrees. Is it normal to take this long?

I am plugged into a 20 Amp circuit at my house using a 30 Amp 25 ft extension cord to get to the 50 Amp cord on the RV. The total current draw on the RV is about 15 Amps and I am reading 110V at the outlets inside the RV. I imagine that this is probably as good as most camp grounds get.

I know if the voltage is low, that it will probably take longer to heat. But is this normal for this oven to take this long? Or is there something wrong?

I don't believe it should tak e30 min to get to 450, but it probably takes a good 15.
My question to you is why not use the speed cook option. It works great?

The convection oven and the GE Advantium oven are two different things. I don't think the Tour has the Advantium. The Speed Cook option is only on the Advantium. Although, I too don't think it should take so long to preheat. It could be because the voltage is low and 30/50 amp would be better.

Ours will preheat to 350 in about 12 minutes but when we go to 400 it takes 25 minutes. Maybe the oven as ours has been this way since it was new. I am on 50A so power is not a problem.
