Sightseer rust issue

While changing the oil this weekend, I noticed that the panel on the back side of the wheel well on the drivers side was all rusted. Seems that the dirt, water etc thrown back from the wheel took off the paint. It's not a problem on the passenger side since it sits further back. I plan to scrape off the rust, put on a primer and then glue a piece of white aluminum flashing over it. Changing your own oil does have advantages.

Labor Day weekend is now officially "fix the rust weekend" for me. I take a small air grinder and hit all of the spots I can see especially around the storage compartments and brush on POR-15. We drive the MH to Disney every Christmas and always end up driving through a snow storm. The salty roads here in Michigan/Ohio seem to be taking a toll on the thin steel components.
