Single AC on short coaches

Morning
Have an 04 Brave 30w with single roof ac. It cools but no way can overcome and start to cool in 100 degree weather. Best it did was 93 degrees with slides in running for a few hrs.
I was wondering if this is normal as the unit was chilling and vent temp was cold, but I suspect the conditions were just to dang hot...

If the air coming out was about 20*F colder than what was going into the intake, it's working fine.
15*F is bare minimum difference. I've seen new units at 23*F.
Also, I would check above the ceiling assy. and make sure no cold air is leaking into the attic and that everything is sealed off, and your filter and coils are all clean.

Once a coach is "heat soaked" it's tough to cool it down.

On really hot trips we will start the generator and run the house air conditioning all day while driving. It keeps the coach at a nice level and we're not playing catchup when we arrive at our destination for the night.

I don't use the dash air then and that takes some of the load off the engine.

The rule of thumb in the motorhome business is, thirty feet and under one AC, thirty one feet and over two AC's. You will see some thirty foot and under motorhomes with two AC's, but they were ordered that way. I have had a twenty eight foot Argosy and a Thirty foot Airstream motorhome with a single AC. Both were satisfactory as long as you were careful to precool them. I always drove them down to the house and plugged them in the day before leaving. I set the thermostat low the night before leaving and cold soaked the motorhome. when leaving the campground each day, We leave the thermostat set low bacause it is easier to turn up the thermostat and let it warm some than turn it down and cool it quickly.
