I have a 2008 Winnebago Sightseer with a skylight in the shower stall. It has leaked since purchased 3 years ago. The dealer has resealed at least 3 times w/o success. I have examined the skylight and found no cracks. I recently removed the "self leveling sealant" to discover that the seal between the two pieces is inadequate. I am in DIY mode now, but do not know what type of sealant I need to use between the two layers ?

First you need to determine how much damage has been down to the roof and wall structure! If it's been leaking for three years you may have a very expen$ive repair.

The manuals that came with my coach had a drawing with all the sealant types used. Not sure they did that in 2008 as mine is a 2011.

I agree, first step is to determine extent of damage from 3 yrs of leaking.
As far as the type of sealant go to your local RV parts store and ask for their advice based on roof type.
I have a fiberglass rook and love the self leveling sealants, can be a few more dollars per tube but well worth it IMHO

You need to use butyl tape under the outside part.

Similar issue recently with my skylight. Seal and skylight looked great but when removing the sealant discovered that they never properly sealed between the roof and out panel.
I used a good bead of dicor under the outer panel (between the roof and panel) and sealed around the new outer panel with eternabond tape. My skylight was nearing 10 yrs old so I elected to replace the outer panel as a PM effort.
The 'official' sealant recommended by Winnebago was a self-leveling silicone sealant. I elected not to use that since I knew I was going to use eternabond tape and that will not stick to anything with silicone in it.
