Slide Lock

I have a 2012 Journey 40U. This model has 4 slides with the front slides having slide locks for each of the front slides and one slide lock switch for the two bedroom slides. The slide locks for the front slides are working properly. The switch for the rear (bedroom slides) quit working. The slides work properly. The locks do not operate. I cannot locate a circuit breaker for this application. My first thought is a bad switch. Anyone with info that may help fix this problem?

I just had this problem with my front slides. I had to buy 2 upgrade kits for the locks. The kit consists of one motor and one trust washer per lock. Call PowerGear and see if you are still covered under warranty. Also, they can give you some good tips on troubleshooting.

The five buttons on the cover at the ceiling over the window are covering screws. These twist off but use care. One screw is hidden by the TV. You may be able to access the motor by removing only the four easy to access screws. Remove the motor and retest. If the motor works you will need the upgrade kit. I will attempt to attach the PowerGear instructions. It is not difficult to do.

Look forward to you findings.

Thanks Rick. It looks as though I now have a direction to go. Since you said nothing about a circuit breaker, I guess I can rule that out and start by using your very helpful instructions.

You are very welcome, Larry. I hope they prove fruitful to you.

I have to remove one of the motors and install the correct thrust washer that just came in the mail. Now that I know how to do it things should go quicker.

Keep us posted. Any pictures you post may help someone else. I hope the TV does not have to come down .

Happy trails,

Rick
