For some time, I've been having a problem with my slide lock operating intermittently in both directions. It has progressively gotten worse and on our last trip, it stopped working altogether. After checking out the various threads on this forum, I performed the travel lock field repair. When I activated the lock switch, it promptly locked as designed. Thought I would check the unlock - NADA. After further research I proceeded to plan B, bought a tube of Loctite Blue and prepared to use that method after removing all the washers. Since I needed to get the slide unlocked, I hooked the motor to my portable drill battery using test leads and Voila, it worked just fine in both directions. No binding or hesitation. Hooked it back up and tried the switch. Nothing again.

So I have concluded that my problem is likely in the switch itself. Does anyone know how to get to that switch in the dash? It appears to be in a box of sorts and is totally enclosed with the other switches on the left side of the steering column. I'm baffled.

I had a similar problem on the 2006 Tour we bought in March. Lock would work fine with the drill battery but not with the switch. I found one of the pins in the electrical plug wasn't locked in place and was pushed back when the plug was connected. It had me scratching my head for about a 1/2 hour before i finally noticed the pin was not inserted correctly.

Thanks. I'll definitely take a closer look at both connectors. How were you able to tell that the pin wasn't locked? Could you see the wire backing out of the connector when you plugged it in?

Yes, when I'd connect the plug you could see the wire/pin backing out of the plug. If I remember correctly, the unlocked pin was on the coach side of the harness. You can hold the plastic connector in one hand and give a good tug on the wire with the other and see if there is any movement. If you find one loose, just push the wire/pin back into the plug and it should lock in place.
