Slide Lubrication

We have a recently acquired '05 Winnebago Sightseer, model 29r.

Some things seem to be maintained well, others not so much.

I would like to lubricate the two slides, and hope someone can give me some instructions. Slide in, slide out, slide half-way out.

What do you lube with? I have used 'Slide Lube' on previously owned units, and it seems to be a high priced white lithium.

Suggestions??

I think Winnebago advises against white lithium grease because it attracts dust. The preferred product is a dry sprayon silicone lubricant.
This is my recollection, hope others can validate.

If you have HWH hydraulic slide mechanisms, not sure any lube is required. When we had our coach at the factory 2 yrs ago to have the slide bushings replaced, the Winnebago mechanics told me not to use any lube on the mechanisms and just to keep them clean. I believe they did say if I felt I had to use anything, dry silicone spray was OK.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Why do you feel they need lubricating? Is it just a general maintenance thing or are they making strange noises?

X2 on this.

Certainly if they're HWH units you don't want to use lithium grease. Keep them clean and smooth and maybe use dry silicone spray and wipe off any excess.

Good luck.

No lube required ... mine have had a lot of use since new, and the only "lube" I tried was Winnie recommended cornstarch on the flip seals just once ...it made them so slick they wouldn't flip ...never again.
